Fedamore Stable prepares and consigns a select group of yearlings each year at Central Kentucky Thoroughbred sales. Our program runs on hands-on care and a racetrack-style discipline:

Organized, exacting, and built around each horse.

Barry Clohessy, owner of Fedamore Stable, grew up on the backs of horses in Fedamore, County Limerick—foxhunting, pony club and riding out were as routine as eating and sleeping.

Barry rode as an amateur in Ireland, worked in racing yards in England and France, and came to the U.S. in 2000. He worked with horses like Fusaichi Pegasus, War Chant and Sarafan, giving him invaluable insight into what a great horse looks and feels like, and what it needs to thrive. 

After 12 years in Ocala breaking yearlings for leading trainers and pinhooking two-year-olds, Barry relocated to Central Kentucky to try his hand at pinhooking foals to yearlings. Over the past 10 years, his pinhooks have included G1SW Claret Beret and graded stakes winners Vixen, Kehoe Beach and Bracket Buster, all prepped by Barry and pinhooked in partnership with Peter Pugh, Cherry Knoll Farm and Hunter Valley Farm. Barry has also been involved with Hunter Valley graduates like Smile Happy and Front Run the Fed.

While Barry hangs up his Fedamore Stable shingle for the first time at Keeneland September in 2026, his horsemanship and experience span both decades and continents.

Each yearling is prepped on its own terms rather than run through a standard program. It is matched with the staff member suited to its temperament and worked back from sale day the way a racehorse is worked back from a race.

Horses taking a break from the track get the same standard of care: quiet time outside, hands-on care, and a thoughtful plan for returning to competition.
